Something amazing and something funny...
Something amazing...
This panrty was empty two weeks ago. Like the second shelf was completely empty and the top shelf only had the boxes and canned beans on it. lol... look at it now:
And something funny... check out my preggo peach assmebly line:
After I dipped the peaches in boiling water to peal them, me, a towel, three bowls (one for the peaches, one for the skins, and one for the cut up peaches) parked on the floor and watched a movie while I pealed and sliced 2 boxes of peaches two days ago. My dh laughed, so of course he took a picture. lol!

Your pantry is just beautiful! I just love the concrete, tangible abundance of this time of year. *sigh* Everything is so full and ripe and delicious. And you've canned it for winter - you can open those peaches in January and be transported to late-summer, sun-soaked goodness. Yum!

I love it too! I was thinking about the reason why I went so overboard this year with everything (I got more than last year in just about everything) and was then struck by the fact that this winter, when I am nearly ready to have a baby, and my dh is gone in the academy (they are talking about dropping him in the OCT one... I have to call you Lauren.) then I will have wonderfully summery fruit and such to feed my children. I will be able to make blackberry cobbler in Jan and send it to school with them in the covered glass tupperware that I got this year, I will be able to send peaches and cream in Cyan's snack box and know that there isn't an overload of sugar in it... All of these things with the effort I am putting out NOW... not then... you know? I LOVE that! (Not to mention that I will LOVE it when I am 9 mos pregnant and a single mom again for 4 months. Grrrr...)

Aaahhhh! Starting him in October? What TIMING! Call me!!!!
I thought about calling you when I hopped online, at about 10:30 - but that's 7:30 for you so I didn't know if you'd be up or what. If you are up at 7-8:30ish and not overwhelmed with breakfast etc, that time of the morning is almost always good for me - around 11 I am winding up morning coffee/writing, and most of the picking up, and heading to work on the breakfast dishes or hanging out or pulling in laundry (I love to talk on the phone while I hang laundry, LOL!).
Wow... Your pantry looks so, well, healthy! Compared to my processed food, boxed snack, etc, etc. one....sigh. I am very impressed with your skills! Seriously. I wish I had paid attention when my Aunt was cooking as I grew up, I may have actually learned to do more than boil water.

Great pantry!!
We were not allowed to watch too much tv when I was little. Whenever mom canned or froze green beans/peas/limas, we got to watch tv while prepping the veggies. Great memory!
