Dave Ramsey question...

OK--I did our zero budget last night. THAT was depressing!

My question is--do you allocate money towards car repairs, replacing furniture, and other future replacement/repairs OR do you put ALL of that money into savings until you get your emergency fund?

I'm confused because I know he says those things will come up in the future.

But--when do you add those to your budget? Before or after the emergency fund?

Thanks!

I'd put it all into savings for now. Then if the car breaks or the furniture collapses, you can take the money from the emergency fund. Without an emergency fund, I think it would be very easy to fall back on the credit cards which is something you don't want.
