So I have two kids in school now...

So far I have made:

Alex:
three long sleeved hooded t shirts

Cyan:
Valour Hoodie
hoodie dress
two t shirts
two tank dresses
three pairs of bike shorts (for under the dresses on warm days)

I have bought:

Alex:
Two pairs of long shorts

Cyan:
pair of jeans (They are SO cute and they were at Ross for $6 when we went to find her a swim suit (getting silly putty in your only swim suit in a heat wave really sucks))
light jacket
Backpack

I am going to come back to this after I have gone through the kids closets tonight and find out what they still need. When I have that list I am going to start making a list of what I can make before then (being realistic and 4 mos pregnant) and then a list of things we need to buy. I also need to go buy the school and pick up their school lists and go through the supply lists and see what and where I can pick those up as well.

I will have two kiddos in school this fall too! I just went through my kids' clothes last week and figured out what we need. I have my MIL on garage sale alert, and I will continue to look for more at garage sales, but I know I am going to probably have to buy the following:

For Liam (starting K):

2 size 12-12 1/2 (really have to have him measured) pair tennis shoes (he has to have a pair for gym and a pair for regular wear. He just outgrew his at the beginning of the summer.

size 6 snow pants. These are a must here, though this is a purchase that can wait at least until October. The kids go out unless it's like 5 degrees outside or something. Killian completely destroyed his in this size, and I can't figure out how to repair them and keep them waterproof, YK?

backpack

For Killian (starting 3rd):
Land's End Sweats (yes, I'm picky, but he won't wear jeans, although I have quite a few pairs of nice pants and jeans from garage sales). The LE sweats look semi-decent and last well, so it's worth the $15 a pair it will cost.

Size 2 winter boots (need good ones, hopefully will be passed down)

Size 8 snowpants (ditto). Does buying name brand snow pants increase the odds the knees won't be ripped out by spring???

Both boys could likely use socks and underwear, but really not a need at this point. Perhaps I will save those things for Christmas stocking stuffers (we have REALLY big stockings, LOL). Plus, if I wait, I will be working again [i]before[i] I have to buy them.

Everything else, we, or my MIL, have found at garage sales, and much of what Killian wore (also mostly garage sale items)is being passed on to Liam. Killian got new tennies last spring, and I have a really nice pair of tennies that will work for gym from a garage sale, that is, if I convince him to sit down and learn to tie his shoes....

Jody you just reminded me that both my kids need shoes and rain boots. We almost never need snow gear around here, but rain boots are a yearly MUST.
