I've paid off.....

drumroll please lol

$6611.00 in debt in the past month. Mostly due to DH's year end bonus, and income tax returns, but there's still abt 500.00 in there of $$ from paycks that we didnt waste, instead we paid bills with!

woohoo

3 accts completely cancelled!!!

25K more to go (16k of that is the car tho, and another 6500 is DHs motorcycle, which we are going to sell as soon as we get it paid down just a bit more).

I just realized we owe 16k on our car. Obviously, I knew this, but wow, to see it. I guess the reason I'm so disgusted by it, is b/c we were in a bad position when we got it. We owed 5k on dh's car when it decided to drop a rod. So we were so upside down in it that we had to basicly buy a new car to absorb the negative equity. If we'd had any savings, we could've just got it fixed. Wow. the really sad part is, we've been so used to NOT having any savings, that it never even crossed our minds that it was soemthing that may have been fixable. It was, Oh CRAP - we have to go get a new car.

Wow!!!!!!! That's fantastic. I feel good knowing that we will only have about $1000 in debt after we get our tax return. But I'm not including the van loan in that. Ugh. I don't want to figure that into it. How depressing.

Anyway, I'm thrilled for you. Paying of debt is such a thrill for me.

That's great about getting the debt paid off. I know what you mean about the decisions you make when you have no savings and don't know how to handle things that come up, we are finally getting some of the things paid off too!

woo hoo

We've had some stupid debts - mostly related to cars. DH signed a car loan at 18% interest 1 time - I was . I could have charged in on my cc cheaper. Paid that one off so fast. Then I took over all financial responsibilities.
