The only thing I can say, I guess, is that I believe the Universe (God, Goddess, Divine, your preference here) sometimes puts things in our way that seem like stumbling blocks, but often turn into opportunities. When the house we're buying came up for sale, I was so torn and confused and didn't know what to think or do - here we were pointed in one direction and someone came and picked us up and pointed us in a different direction and it was completely unsettling. In the end it turned out for the best.
Is buying this house and your dh staying in the Marines incompatible? What would life look life if he stayed in and would that be okay with you? These are all the questions you're probably asking yourself...it's impossible for me to judge or tell you to do this or that.
