I need to join you mamas.....

Dh and I are scraping the bottom of the barrel right now. Which stinks but cannot be avoided. We have 2 different lawyers and 2 different custody cases going right now. PLus repairing the house and heating a home in Maine All of the savings have been eaten up by lawyers and I am bummed out. I have no safety net and I hate that feeling! So I need help mamas. I just am not even sure where to begin. DH is working 10 days on and 4 days off out of state ( he is with us on the 4 days off) So I also have expenses for him down in MD as well as me and 4 kids up here in Maine. Anyone have a good place to start from?

I have very little advice until we know more about your current spending habits, but I wanted to say {{{WELCOME!}}}.

Where do you think you could start, and why havn't you done it yet? Usually that gets us going.

I just wanted to say I'm sorry for all the challenges you are facing. I second what Val said. (she usually has good advice all around)

I know I spend way too much on groceries etc and I know I do it b/c I am so tired I can't stand the thought of cooking, so we eat alot of really easy things. Dh has to buy groceries in MD too but there is no hope for him. He wants it so he buys it, regardless of cost I do at least buy the less expensive convienence foods LOL

What about once-a-month-cooking? For you and DH.....
Does your DH have a freezer where he stays? You could load him up with frozen meals that he could just pop in the microwave.

My DH isn't allowed to go to the grocery by himself because he does the same thing. Even with a list!!!!
