Big Change for our family coming up....

At the end of January we will be CO-housing with another family in the same house. It will be for up to 2 years. The house is fully furnished, so we are getting rid of 85percent of our belongings. We are only keeping clothes, beds and a few odds and ends. Talk about simplfying.... This will be really good for our family.

How did you come up with the idea? Seems very interesting and will save money too. How many people total will there be living there? Do you both have spouses? Where you friends before deciding to live together? Sorry for all the questions, i saw something on here recently and after looking at the sites, it seems like a really interesting way of life.

I want to hear more details too! It sounds really neat. My dream is to do that with my 2 best friends and their families. We would definitely need two houses though

We are close with them. It kinda a long story, so here is the short version: We are very close with the people who own the house we are moving into, and so is the other family we are moving in with. The family who owns the house is moving to another country for a bit and in the meantime we and the other family will stay in their house till they come back. The house is 3600 square feet and is practically brand new. We both have spouses and their will be 3 children. As far as how it came about, it just kinda happened. Things fell into place and both our families just happen to be ready to do this sort of thing.
