eyes New Use for that New Press and Seal wrap

Last night it was REALLY windy here and the windows in the new place are well HORRIBLE .. they are those old roll out trailor windows which never want to shut and stay that way. So it felt like the wind was blowing right threw the house BRRRRRRRR

Since Kevin can not do much because hes got one arm now, since he broke his other one, i can't have him find a solution or wait til his arm heals. So i went out today and was looking in the grocery stores and thought why not ... i put it on the screens and tried taking it off after and it just popped right off so i have press and sealed all the windows in the house and i do not have the breeze i had last night even though its just as windy!!

YAY!!!

Yeah im happy happy ... my feet are not freezing totally off .. and it's 60 degrees in here instead of the 50 it has been by this time other nights and i haven't turned the Kerosine heater on yet !!!!

I also covered up the holes behind the dryer that are in the wall where someone who lived here before just cut huge chunks out of the wall and floor to put things in( what were they thinking ???)

My mother in law thinks i am insane as usual ... and kevin fussed some saying that was a weird idea and it wouldn't work. Well poopoo on them it worked .. YAY ..

I would really like to build frames and put heavy duty plastic on the outside of the windows, but i would need help to pull that off. I think that we will still do that this summer atleast in the back where it isn't viewable, so that the cool air will stay in this summer.

Not to mention that there is no insulation under this place. So maybe thats an activity we can do this summer for the land lord and get some of a months rent knocked off.

It truly is a great idea, but wouldn't press n seal be expensive to do a large area?

Up here in the frigid NE they sell this plastic that you use a hairdryer to seal up your windows. Maybe look at a hardware store for it if you have more "pressing n sealing" to do

Actually one of the Value roles did all of the windows except the living room ones since they are different kinds and hold the cold out i left them alone. I still have a good bit left over too !! it was $5 for the roll .. so that isn't to bad

OH and by the way it was colder last night then nights in the past and windy .. but with the Kerosine heater on the lowest i could get it .. it was warmer in here then it was any other night
YAY !!
