Wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am a 35 yr old mom of b/g twins born 07/11/1999 named Amanda and Brandon. I gave birth at 39 weeks and Amanda was 6 lbs 13 ozs and Brandon was 8 lbs 4 ozs. I have been with Lee since 05/1991, he is a furniture refinisher. I returned to work when they were 3 months old and lost my job of 10 years when they were 17 months old.I have been home with them since then. They were bf'd until they were 3 yrs. I was the member of several twin groups but lost my internet access for a year and most of the groups removed me from their lists so now I am looking for other mommies to chat with.

Welcome! I also have b/g twins. They were born in June of 1999. b/f'ing for me was very difficult - they were 10 weeks premature and in the hospital for 8 weeks before coming home. At 6 months, within a week of each other, they just wouldn't b/f anymore, so I gave it up.

So, do you have any big ideas for birthday parties for them this year? I'm at a loss and if we do anything outside of the house, things are booking up fast out here.

We live in So. California - I'm from Miami originally and lived in Central Florida and Tampa for awhile before coming out here.

I haven't made any plans really. We have a big backyard so we could do it here. For their third birthday we were going to rent a pavillion at TY park, which has a water park with slides called Castaway island it also has an area for young kids and their parents. When I called they had a meeting cabin (WITH A/C) which needed a larger deposit but would be cheaper to rent so we went with that it was also close to the water park being the middle of July in south Florida I thought everyone would be over at the water park but with the A/C everyone stayed comfortable enough to stay at the cabin. It was great party, everything was the Wiggles, it was before they were on The Disney Channel so all the merchandise had to be purchased from their AUS website. They loved it, I made a pinata in the shape of a hot air balloon in the wiggles colors and cut up the leftover wrapping paper with their pictures on it and glued them to the balloon part. I wanted some figures of the wiggles to put in the basket so they could but they didn't have any so we went with the pictures.

Last year we had it at this house and there wasn't any theme they just requested a Hambuger cake so I made them one. I make different cakes the one for their third birthday was a flower bed with worms and flowers made out of candy. I made one for my sister's son in the shape of "Clay" from playhouse disney 3D not flat. I also made a cross for his Christening. Baby blocks for her baby shower with her sons name spelled out on the blocks.

I like making the pinata's too I made a blimp for Dh's birthday the twins said I had to

and I made JJ the jetplane for my other sisters little girl and a sun for the one I made "clay"for.

I was thinking of Chuck E. Cheese this year if we could swing it financially. I do not know, if not, we will do it here it looks like it may be a pirate theme this year. I can do a Hidden treasure hunt around the yard and house. Make stones with things inside for them to find and maybe a pirate ship for the pinata. The cake I was thinking of a treasure chest.

What about you do you throw big, modest of family parties?

Hi there, I have frat g/g twins. One is an Amanda, too! Mine just turned 3. They have a baby sister who is 18 months and another sister due in a few more months. I work full time so things are pretty busy for us!

Any tips on transitioning to the potty would be welcome, I'm not looking forward to dipes X 4 this summer.

Don't have much time here, but quickly -

My family unfortunately is still back in Georgia, and Tallahassee mostly now. They all kind of moved northward from Miami. And, we're pretty much estranged from dh's family although they are local. None of them have kids my kid's ages though anyway. So, I mostly will be depending on inviting their preschool friends.

Last year, we invited all the little kids in their class to the house. I had a Tumblebus (converted school bus that has gymnastics equipment in it) come to the house. Everything else was a Clifford the Big Red Dog theme.

We're thinking of just doing it at the house again - just need to decide on games and a theme - actually was thinking of pirates too! I'd be interested in making a treasure chest cake if you have any tips!
