Is it too late...

For me to plant some more veggies? I have some more space in my garden. Is tehre anything I can still plant? I am in IL, by St. Louis. I don't know what my zone is, I always forget...

I am a VERY new gardener, this is my first garden and I don't know what I am doing.

It's not too late. Go to a garden center and see what seedlings they have for sale. Also, go to www.territorialseed.com . I just got a copy of their winter catalog. It has things you can plant in summer and fall to harvest in fall, winter, and spring.
