I am clueless but my yard need something! Help me out here- where should I go it I know *zip* about plants?

Well, not a website... but do you have a local agricultural extension office?
Ours is great! They have a gardening hotline, classes taught by master gardeners, publication after publication, soil test kits...
They would be able to help you out with what does well in your area.

Worth looking into!

The Kitchen Gardener Magazine

I wish that they still made them... they were SO full of information that was usable and good for amature gardeners... I was thrilled to find that my local library carried all of them up until 2000. I have borrowed a bunch and copied things off and put them in a binder. I just LOVE their format, and was very happy to find this rescorce... perhaps your library has it too?
