How do you change yourself?

Where does change begin? How does it happen? Where do you find the strength to do the things you know you have to do?

I feel lost. So much stuff going on right now....

For me change has always begun with a proverbial smack in the face. Sad, but true. It takes a shocker for me to realize change is necessary. I guess once I determine its got to happen and convict myself of that fact its decide, committ, act.
As for finding strength - for me I have to dig deep and I occasionally surprise the heck out of myself.

I'm sorry you are feeling lost. I know that feeling and its no fun. Prayer or meditation of some kind can help you sort things out maybe? Journaling?

I've had some pretty major life changes in the past 2 years and sometimes I'm not sure how it all happened or how I made it all happen I should say.

Anyway, I read and didn't want to not post. (((hugs))) to you

I share your feelings. I have high BP and 40 lbs to lose. I know what I need to do but I feel stuck. Let me know if you find any clarity on this topic.

I agree..it so very difficult to adjust to change. And everything needs your attention. SOmetimes it seems like your time is everyone's but yours!! We just got to cope with stuff...buckle up and forge full steam ahead!

I think I'm starting into the "change of life" and am having trouble adjusting. I've always gone with the "just do what you've got to do" mentality, but lately it's been harder. My older sister tells me that it'll get easier in 5 years or so. Aarghh, that seems so far off now.

The journey always begins with the first step! Make small changes a little at a time, if you screw up keep going, and enjoy the changes. Don't see them as something you HAVE to do, but something you CHOOSE to do. Sometimes changing your attitude about change helps so much!

Sometimes it does take a smack in the head to wake up - in my case it was my daughters' insight on my hypocracy - saying one thing and doing the other (regarding food/exercise/etc).

Meditation always helps me not feel lost
