and another chapter closes....
I'm sad, but relieved.
We are no longer using cloth diapers at all. The rash wouldn't stop, so we made a decision. A case of paper diapers was $16 (96 diapers) so the money i made selling my stash will more then cover the next two years if i want to look at it like that. I will miss cloth diapering. But i'm ok with paper now, after about 2 weeks i'm seeing the up sides as well.
Now we've weaned. Romans not nursed in over 24 hours. He asks, I redirect, he is ok with it. The only rough spots are nap time and bedtime, and over the past week its gotten easier. He still cries a little in my arms, but has a great new cup (thanks to nicoles post ..the nuby bottle/cup rocks)
anyway. I had a bit of anxiety last night and cried a little over weaning my very last nursling. I wish we had recognized the last nursing session ya know? that i'd known it woudl be the last time i would nurse a baby so i could've video taped it. lol.
He's fine. I'm a bit engorged but otherwise am doing better today. I know that for us this was the right decision and I nursed him 20 months and thats great. I totally respect those who can nurse longer (my sister is tandem nursing her boys... 3 and 2) but i coudln't do it. My weakness? selfishness?
I dont' know but when I started getting resentful it was time to initiate weaning in my opinion and over the last 2 months we've slowly and gently gotten to this point.
Its over. My last baby at my breast. The new phase of parenting starts now - raising my kids, the school years...
am rambling i know but my blog is down and needed to get this out. lol.
well, i'm guessing he's just fine since he's opened the pantry and gotten out some cereal and is yammering for milk lol
