How do I clean my yucky burnt pan
A few days ago I was making Mac and Cheese and totally forgot about it and it burnt itself to my pan. I have soaked and resoaked it but the burned mac isn't going anywhere. At this point I'm considering it garbage Maybe someone can help me?? It's a faberware so it is no teflon, just metal the whole way around. Thanks in advance
You can try a couple of things. If you have any used fabric sheets (or borrow one from a neighbor), put it in a bag with enough water to cover and the bag must be large enough to hold it and close tightly. I use trash bags. Leave it over night.
If that does not work, try soaking it in amonia. Same thing, put in a sealable bag, cover with water and about a cup of amonia. I put it out in the garage and open the next day. The thing is, you'll need to remember to open the bag AWAY FROM YOUR FACE the next day. It's really toxic.

My mom always uses Arm & Hammer baking (is it soda or powder, I never remember) the stuff in the yellow cardboard box. You put it on dry let it sit for 15 min. then add a little water and try wiping it off. My mom even used to use it to clean out her oven. If it will clean out an oven (yuk) I would think it would take off baked on "monkey cheese" Good Luck!

Boil water in it and then let it simmer for 30 minutes, making sure of course that it doesn't go dry. (cover it if you have a lid or something) You could use some vinegar in the boil as well. It has always worked for me to boil and use a copper scrubbie or steel wool.

I like using baking soda myself. Get the pan wet, sprinkle it on generously, put the lid on it and let it sit overnight. This is the old fashioned way of cleaning an oven (and how I clean my 55 year old oven lol).

id try baking soda first too...let it set in the pot with a little bit of warm water, just enought to make a paste, then use a regular dish rag and scrub away...
I put a few inches of water with a drop of dish soap. boil - cool and scrape (I like using a thin metal spatula to get under all the gook) then scrub with steel wool.
I have recently read about the baking soda tips above but have not had a chance to try it.

They also make a stainless steel cleanser for pots and pans, it works great.

i had an incident with a burned custard for my banana cream pie the other day.
i thought my pan was dead when i couldnt get it off with baking soda, but then
my dads girlfriend bought some powderd dishwasher stuff and simmered it with some water. the crusties dissolved and barely needed to be scrubbed! and this
was after i let it soak for a whole day with no luck!
