HELP!!! Silly putty is stuck, embedded in a playdress...

Laney was wearing one of her Hanna playdresses today when I realized it was way too quiet for 3 kids. I went to check on them on Connor was trying to get silly putty out of the cuff of LuLu's dress. It is absolutely ground in and embedded in the cuff. Can the dress be saved? Any ideas on how to get silly putty out of fabric? Please help. Thank you for any and all ideas on this.

Before I throw the dress in the freezer should I wet the sleeve? Just curious. If freeezing doesn't work I will try the alcohol. Thank you for responding!

Crayola's website says to do this...
How to remove Silly Putty® from fabric:

# Materials Dull knife or metal spoon
# WD-40® (car part lubricant)
# Liquid dishwashing detergent
# Cotton balls
# Rubbing alcohol
# Soft cloth or sponge

Procedure
Scrape off excess Silly Putty or clay with a dull-edge knife or metal spoon. Spray with WD-40 and let stand a few minutes. Scrape excess Silly Putty or clay with dull-edge knife or metal spoon. Respray with WD-40 and wipe off stain with cotton balls. If any stain remains, saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, blot the stain and rinse. Wipe any remaining residue or remaining stain with a damp sponge or cloth moistened with liquid dishwashing detergent

(I've had great results with their cleaning methods)

Oh I'm so glad this was posted!! I thought I had saved the carpet after the last silly putty fiasco with my boys, but then I found it all over ds sheets and blanket - he took it to bed with him when he found it (I had put it up, apparently he found it).
