venting Here's what Sky Blue looks like on beige carpet

I'm resting for a moment. I've been cleaning the carpet for over an hour straight. Thinking about having a beer even.

First pic, right after the incident. I had to mist the area down with water to see exactly where the powder traveled. It went EVERYWHERE. The main blotch is where she dropped the powder:

One hour later, the blotch is MUCH lighter, yet still there.

The other lighter areas are almost copmletely gone.

Put peroxide and baking soda on it and let it set for a little while then scrub some more.

If that doesn't work, email me or IM me, I may have another solution

All that work!!

Try using dish soap in water and scrubbing it by hand with an old toothbrish or other saft srubbing device. Since we use Syntropol to get excess dye out of clothing after dying it will work simalarly on carpet. YOur back and shoulders will be sore but it should help.

Hi Chris!

I've tried that before and it actually bleached the carpet out.

If no more blue comes out bleached might look less noticeable than blue...?

I have no idea if this would work or if it is just a waste of money and time.... but Mr Clean magic eraser takes dye off my hands...??

Do you have any spare carpet? You might be able to patch it.

Becky,

I spilled bleach on my dark beige carpet at a rental in college. I made a paste of boiling water and coffee grounds and pasted it on the stain. Let it sit until dry, vacuumed up the grounds and then washed the carpet with soap and water. It worked so well I got my deposit back. Might be worth a shot on one small spot? I'm sorry this happened. One of those 'joys of having kids' moments, eh?!
