Removing Sticky Residue??

Does anyone have any great ideas for natural ways to remove sticky residue? Usually it's on glass jars that have labels stuck to them that I am trying to remove. I've tried soaking them in water overnight and that seems to help sometimes. And I have this stuff called goo-gone, but it's probably not a great chemical to be using. I don't like using glass jars with labels half stuck to them and still kind of sticky feeling! Any suggestions?

not "all-natural".........

BUT

Lighter fluid works great.....the kind you would fill a Zippo with, not butane.

Citra-Solve is great for sticky stuff, and its natural. When I was in college, at the end of the year everyone else would be using butane to get the tape residue off their dorm room walls, and I'd be using Citra-Solve. People would come into my room and ask why it smelled so good.

Thanks guys, I think I remember using citra-solve to clean the strings on my violin once. I didn't realize it was natural. I should try that again.
