dentist what can I use that can get crayon out of the carpet??

Skylar had this brilliant idea to color bright red crayon all over the light brown carpet. Anyone know what can get it out? Thanks in advance.
much love

Try Hot Shot carpet cleaner. YOu can get it at WalMart. My ds colored on my friend's carpet just the other day when we were visiting the new baby. She had that on hand and it did the trick!
BTW, it was light beige carpet and orange crayon. Good luck!

Look on the back of a WD-40 can. I'm pretty sure that they list that it gets crayon out. Not sure if you want to try it on carpet though???

i know how to remove wax-

using a paper bag with an old towel over the bag, place it over the area and iron it with iron on med-high and move back and forth. the wax should come off onto the bag...

however i wonder if with crayons the color would go into the carpet even more?

wish i could help more!

Thanks for the ideas mamas. I looked on the crayola website but there were so many different types of crayons it made my head spin. I never knew they had so many different things. They used Stockmar crayons so I wouldn't even begin to know where on that crayola site to start looking. We were also leaning torward something a little less chemical-ly (if that's even a word....lol) I might try the paper bag and iron idea and I also heard someone say about just pouring some boiling water over it and scrubbing. So I'll have to talk to my room-mate when he gets home. Thanks so much for the help mamas!

Oh, one other thing since you want to try to avoid chemicals--look for a citrus based cleaner. I used to use NOW that I bought at Sam's club, but they don't carry it anymore. I know you can find others too though. The citrus base works on crayon on walls and plastic, but have not actually tried it on carpet. I know it is safe to use on carpet, just not sure about the crayon. It is worth a try if you can find something.

TOOTHPASTE - the normal white one (not gel) gets crayon off walls and clothing, maybe it would get it off your carpet. Wet an old toothbrush, put a little toothpaste and scrub gently.........hope it works for u......it cleaned up our walls like magic lol
