My enviromental scientist friend says it is standing water they are attracted to and mate in.

ok... i made dh get a jar thing together. we've tried it before to no avail but this time he went ballistic. this thing is intense. glass vase with some juice in it (old juice) and taped with a funnel. we'll see.
i've gotten good at just clapping my hands together in mid air and getting them. they're slow. and stupid.
as for standing water. they do tend to be at the sink which i've now dried yet again after putting dishes away.
dh wants me to get the vaccuum out now and try that. lol
am I the only one picturing the moth scene from Tommy Boy. Where David Spade is vacuuming moths in the hotel room while Tommy's on the phone. That scene cracks me up anyway...but now I can't stop laughing

we had some luck...
with beer and vanilla in the bottom of a mason jar, covered with saran wrap that had small holes poked in it.
The orkin man for DH's office told him to use bleach in the drain in the kitchen...that they feed on the food bits down there. He said bleach in the drain every night for a week...haven't tried it yet. Not sure about that...
