Exclamation HELP! A crayon went through the dryer with the laundry- can I get it out?

Of course it is a black crayon, and of course it was a light colored load I love being a mom. Can I get this sooty looking black crayon off all of this laundry or is it ruined? I am so sad- all of ds's and dh's nice khaki pants, 2 ralph lauren shirts, my gap capri khakis....ugh. Thanks for the help,

Heather

I had a dark purple one go through the dryer. I soaked it in really hot water with some oxyclean and then put some bleach in the load and it took all of it out. It was also a light colored load of ours it went in.

I sure hope someone has an answer!

I have had this happen three times.

First was the good old black crayon with a new expensive set of white sheets that I had saved for months to purchase.

Second time was a ugly baby-poop colored yellow that got all over our white clothes.

Last time this happened was this past fall......a dark purple crayon went through with our new (not yet worn) school clothes.

It makes me so mad each time it happens. Even when you check pockets and shake clothes out when they go from the hamper to the wash......that odd crayon seems to find it's way into the occasional load.

I feel so bad for you mama! It is sooo frustrating.

Knowing the knowledge of the mamas here on Amity's, I am guessing someone will have a solution.

Why can't it happen to a load of towels?.....it always seems to happen to the good and expensive clothes.

Hugs,

Michelle

Try WD-40. I thought I ruined a whole load of DH's wash with a red crayon. I used a WHOLE bottle of the WD-40, and it stunk until I washed the clothes like 4 times, but it took all of the crayon out.

This happened to me recently and i think this is what i did to get it out. I used zout on as many spots as i could and then washed w/ oxyclean. Pretty much all spots came out and those that didn't i redid the wash and they did.
good luck
