backyard 'equipment'

hello,

i am wondering what people have for backyard play. we have a sand box but would like to incorporate other play things for a very active three year old. we have a small amount of space. i have read the christopherus 'joyful movement' but need more ideas!!! anyone build anything that can be brought into a house in the winter?

thanks!

Sandboxes are great! We also have rope swings, both the kind you can sit on and the kind that has a big knot on the bottom and the kids jump onto. We also have a hammock. DH built the girls a balance beam. Tree stumps to create a ring so the girls can jump from one to another. We also have a tree house. Places where they can dig. We planted a sunflower house and bean teepee (any hidding places). Swing set? Fruit trees, strawberries (stuff they can snack on outside). But nothing that we can bring indoor in the winter (we have very mild winters in CA). HTH
