Gift for teen needed for holidays help

I need to send my neice something for Christmas... or possibly yule. Her mother mentioned solstice in an email but I have no idea which she celebrates.

She is 12 or 13 years old lives in NC is homeschooled and an only child she plays soccer and that about all I know

suggestions? I would like to keep it under $20 if possible

Julie, I have a couple purses left for $15PPD. A ladybug, a scotty dog, and a siamese kitty. LMK if you want a pic. They are round 5.5" pocket purses.

For teenagers I like to give gift cards, since I'm never sure what they really want. You could do one for Old Navy or someplace else where she could shop for some cool clothes, or maybe a gift card for the movies. My cousins love video games but I have no idea which ones so we get them gift cards to either Wal-Mart or Target and they can choose their favorite.

Klutz has a ton of great craft kits that would be good for a teen. We got Nico a kit to make beaded bobby pins. I think they're just about all under $20.

You can see them at www.brainstorms.com or our local toy store carries a lot of the kits.

Last year I gave her a science kit from discovery toys and a playsilk

I will check out and see if they have an old Navy near her... though I am one of those people who was told as a child gift certificates means the giver doesnt know you LOL its tough to break cycles. I was hoping some momma would have some great something...

well here is a bump

I did flip flops and toe socks for my neices one year, bath and bodyworks sets are nice too.
This year we're not seeing them but I can tell you that the majority of chelseys gift list was shopping - she loooooooooooves to shop and told everyone she is easy to buy for, gift cards rock

Flannel sleep pants and some chenille socks? My teenage nieces love flannel sleep pants with a t-shirt. They even wear them to the store

CDs (if you know her style of music), PJs and slippers, bath products, clothing, hair goodies, candy/snacks, a nice snuggly warm fleece blanket (my daughter got a chenille kind of blanket for her birthday and LOVES it), any of those Mooshie pillows/pets, earrings....that's all I can think of offhand.

how about a gift card?

that's what we sent our nieces, from Barnes & Noble that way they can chose music or movies or games, etc., and they had a variety of cards from Christmassy to wintery, etc.
