What's some nice girly gifts I can sew for a birthday?

Kids are invited to a birthday party this weekend. Two girls' birthdays~sisters. Need lots of ideas of what I could possibly sew.

I made one a dolly diaper bag with dolly diapers last year and the other a barette doll. T

Tell me your greatest hits!

I just made a kid's pouch sling and matching capri pants with side vents for a little 3 yr old who is enamored by my sling. She loved the gift and immediately put it on.

I should've taken a pic for SNS but I had to wrap it and give it away fast!

I used a peach colored chintz from my stash that had little flowers and turquoise ribbons on it (I thought I hated the fabric)... it turned out really cute.

I didn't have a pattern for either - so I just winged it... For the sling, I used the length from my elbow to my fingertips, times two and plus 6 inches... and 30 inches wide. I sewed pleats onto the should part of the sling to make it easier for her to use.

For the capris, I used a boy's shorts pattern and made them longer - then did little side vents... They're wide capris - but really comfy.

HTH!

You could make little purses...

or bags.

I've noticed kids can never have too many bags...

there were some cool checkerboard/tic tac toe sets made last year. i keep wanting to do one for my little sister who's 5.

Aprons? Art smocks? Embroidered paper doll sets? dress up stuff? Not just fairy things, although those are certainly popular. I did a cheerleading costume that went over big.

Umm, how about a Memory Book? Just a binder covered with "school" theme fabric, and filled with clear sheet protectors. You can include some 8.5X11" scrapbooking paper with it. I even printed up some "fill in the blanks" style pages to record teacher's name, favorite subject, etc for each year.

Tooth Fairy pillow, cool pillowcases, doll bedding, small I Spy blanket, art pencil roll...

hth!
