Need gift ideas for 11 year old niece please

I have no idea what to do, her birthday party is on Saturday so I need to have it done by then, I have to work with whatI've got, no chance of me getting to the store at all befor ethen.

Help? I have some of the veggie dyed form JoAnn's that would work well with her, her father was Palestinian so she has darker skin. Or should I make her a bag or something? HELP! I don't know, i usually buy her stuff, it's easier but I can't this time. I am open to all ideas! Thanks mamas!

I don't know about an 11 year old, but my 8 year old has been asking for a prarie doll. I found online instructions today and made her one - they're no sew.

I'm thinking of my 12 year old, she would love:

peasant top
skirt to match
bag
sewing box with little notions inside
pj's

I'll try to think of more

My 11 yo dsd was here a few weeks ago. I made her a hand dyed gored skirt that she thought was totally cool, and dyed a t-shirt for her too.

She actually really loved Lydia's playsilks. She kept herself entertained for several hours tying the larger ones around herself in various ways. hehe.

IME you can never go wrong w/ a purse or bag. Maybe a 1-handled backpack sling thing? I love those, lol...

And how about a matching wallet and a gift card? Genuardis grocery stores here sell gc's for movie tickets & all kinds of cool stores right at the checkout line. You could even buy her one online & then print out the "your gc is on the way" thing and put it in the bag. Or buy her an online gc to a cool teens store?

Just noticed you live in TX--I think Safeway is the same parent company.

The purse, wallet, skirt, and shirt ideas are great. Even if you can't get a big gc if you have a Blockbuster Video near you maybe you can throw in a $5 gc and she can rent a movie of her choice with it. It's a little something to add if you decide to make her a purse and wallet. The IN thing this Summer is those wooden handled purses. Like the light color bamboo kind. I like the 2 handled ones with a snap on the inside top. let us know what you decide and make sure you show us pics too. HTH!

IMO you can't go wrong with a bag. Girls at this age are sort of inbetween back pack & purse so I think a bag is a perfect gift. I got my first purse as a gift at about 11-13 and I still remember what it looked like. It was just a cheezy store bought thing that I didn't even keep for very long. Can you imagine if your first purse was something made for you by someone special & totally unique?

Now I wish someone would make me a cool bag for my b-day.
