Unhappy Any vets out there OR how to keep flies off my dogs?

My poor boys are being swarmed by flies. We have a topical spray (Flys Off, I believe) that works but only temporarily. My boxers ears are being bitten so bad, there are 4 or 5 bare areas where fur should be growing.

FYI - they are both large outside dogs. They are bathed regularly but it doesnt seem to help.

Any ideas or tips that you can share would be greatly appreciated.

In the past I have used a product called wipe for horses (mix liqued in a spray bottle and spay on dogs)

I have also read that axel grease works well on the ears.

Frontline makes a great safe for dogs insect repellent. Ask at your vet.

But get something soon....you don't want to see anything like maggots on your dogs (I have seen them in dogs vaginas, ears and rectums...) or cuterebras on them (from a certain type of fly also).
