I just got a very lovely male beta for my folks.

Henry is really pretty and already knows who feeds him (he zooms to the surface when my mom goes towards his tank) He lives in a 3 gallon, plexiglass tank with an aerator and filter.

We are trying to find out everything we can about these creatures (online searches galore and a couple library books)

If you have one, any tips?
How long have you had it so far?

Hey Mari

We had one for 2 years. He died after we went on vacation and took him to my parents house for them to take care of him. I guess he did not like the change of surroundings. I don't know much about them but they are very pretty and I thought taking care of him was easy- just feed daily and clean the tank weekly...

Easiest pet we've ever had! My ds got Thor as a present and he is very pretty and knows who feeds him as well! They're such an interesting pet IMO.

We just got two for my dd's birthday last week. They're in a plexiglass tank with a divider. It's so funny to see them try to fight through the divider.

So for you experts... how do you clean the tank? We were given a fact sheet when we bought the fish, but it wasn't very helpful as far as care goes.
