Natural pet deterrant?

Hi!

I am new to Amity! This is my first post other than the Intro board.

We are slowly but surely trying to go as natural and earth friendly as possible, and I was hoping someone would know of a natural doggie "not here" herb or solution. Our dog has been slow to train, *ugh* and the couch was her latest spot. Any ideas?

Thanks!!

No suggestions for herbs. But, since we have a new puppy, I have been reading lots. First, from what I have read, you have to catch them in the act and scold them. Not after, even immediately after but in the act. If you catch them after, they understand you are upset about the spot but probably do not realize/remember they caused the spot.

Oh yes! LOL We do A LOT of that!! And we use the Barking/growling method of scolding, like the mama dog would do to discipline her pups. That way she won't associate our voices with badness

She is 7 months now, and mostly I am trying to keep her off the furniture, since she had that accident on the couch (ruined the slip-cover!) grr

She is a sweet loving dumb-dumb! LOL

If she's consistently using one spot, feed her there. I know feeding her on the couch might not be practical, but if you possibly can, do it. Leave her food bowl there between meals. Dogs don't like to eliminate where they eat. Hth.
