Does anyone have advice on how to deal with a very strong willed, independent minded 8 year old? My daughter, bless her heart, has inhereted some pretty powerful genes from both her dad and I. I admire these qualities in her because i know someday her determination etc. will be channeled somewhere really cool, but for now it can make for some battles and intense frustration at times for me as her mom. How do I get her to do stuff like get ready for school/bed/do homework/listen to me in general without wiping out these great qualities in her? Or maybe i just need more patience but I am not sure how to get that either.

I would love to hear your opinion....
