Gentle guidance This board is not a debate board regarding spanking vs. non spanking. While we strongly believe that children need and thrive with guidance, we also believe that hitting is not the answer. If you have come here to discuss spanking and your reasons, please desist.

help! bedwetting regression!!!!

Hope this is ok to post here. My 4 year old dd has started bedwetting again after a long period of success. She had gone months without a nighttime accident - she survived our summer trips in strange beds and other busy times with visitors at our house. But, then she started bedwetting every night again. I worked with her to potty real good before going to bed and she went about a week without an accident. Now it started again, worse (obviously more than one wetting during the night).

She did start pre-K this week as well as ballet lessons for the first time. But she's really happy about it all. She loves everything and doesn't seem stressed out by it.

She has a light in her room and she knows to call for Mommy if she's scared to go by herself. Her twin brother is in the room with her too and he has had no problems He'll even get up and help her walk to the bathroom sometimes.

Suggestions? I don't know what to try - she doesn't seem upset by it and just says "ok mommy - I won't pee in my bed again.

Help -tired of washing sheets and pads!

Thanks!
Donna

Maybe she is just sleeping deeper from the new activity and

isn't waking to go potty.

I would put night time pants on her and not make any deal out of it.

My 3.5YO just went through this. We put him back in night time pants and pretty much ignored the situation. We do praise him/point out when he is dry in the morning. Now he's been dry for over a week and I told him he can go back to sleeping in underwear. He was back in night time pants for almost 3 weeks.

We are very matter of fact about it; if you have several accidents you go back into night time pants until you are dry for at least a week. No shame. His 4.5YO brother still has to sleep in night time pants (it's a genetic thing).

Peace,

Kimberly
