I am going through something very similar.

And trying to stop the yelling thing too.

My Dh believes that generally spanking is wrong, just very occasionally warrented. I do not believe it ever is. I noticed that when I am calm DH handles things alot better.

Getting out of the habit of yelling is hard and we are working on it alot over here.
