When does the urge to adopt end!!??

I learned about this girl who had a baby girl last week. I want this baby.

I.WANT.THIS.BABY!!!

Anyhow, I know I am mostly kidding (don't worry, folks!), but a tiny part of me feels a pain for this baby.

Her mom is 22 and this is the 2nd baby. The first child is MR and is living with the grandparents. This baby does not appear MR, but the mother is not interested in parenting her. No drugs or alcohol which is a plus (for me, anyhow).

The birthmother has some sort of problems. I am not sure if she is mildly MR. Met her once, so I am not really sure.

Ah well. I need to find out who is going to parent her. I can calm down if she is in a good home. I hope she is safe and will have a good life.

I want you to have that baby....

any chance of it happening? I'll be thinking of you. Keep us posted.

How is your friend doing with the pregnancy. I STILL have a wonderful family in Sacramento that is really really wanting a babe.

LOL, no I can't take the baby. Just being silly, I guess. But, I am working today to learn more about the situtation with her b/c I do know a couple who would be interested in adopting her. Sounds like that would be best since the b-mom isn't interested in parenting and the dad is unknown, etc. Grandparents aren't too keen on raising this baby as they are ALREADY raising the older sibling who is MR.

Oh, my preggo friend decided to parent the baby. Sorry.

When your child gets cancer. Seriously, though. Baby hunger? Completely gone.

I am happy for your friend that she decided to parent. I hope this baby also ends up in a positive situation.

Oh, Adria. I can't even imagine...

I was reading some of the blog you and Phil are doing, this morning, and I was so teary. You both are SUCH great writers, btw.

Yes, she is at week 30 with her pregnancy, so things are moving along quickly. She is gathering baby things and thinking of names!

I made a call about the (already born) baby girl - I didn't get too far, but will call again later and see what is up with that situation.

I have it really really bad right now.

I think maybe spending a small fortune might do it for us... maybe. Right now we are looking at costs around $20K which seems like JUST SO MUCH.

I would LOVE to have a baby who just sort of fell into our laps at the right time, you know. THAT would be ideal.

It hasn't for me, but I've always anticipated 5 kids. So maybe after this and 2 more adoptions?

Well, I found out more. The baby is living with the birthmom right now. We shall see how it pans out.

With her other son, she lost interest after he was about 1 month old. Also, CPS got involved with her first kid. The grandparents took him so he wouldn't go into fostercare. He is MR.

I would only adopt again if I could stay home with the baby. If I had to WOHM, then I just wouldn't. And I am about to WOHM very soon.

JMHO, though.

Monie, I'm sorry.
