my darling oldest dd was placed in my arms. She was not quite 4 months old and woke as I cuddled her. She smiled a huuuuuge smile and didn't stop for hours. Her jet black hair was without the benefit of humidity after the long plane ride, so it's 3" stuck up from static-electricity. It made me think of a halo. I never saw a more darling girlie. She nursed well right from the start (in the parking lot) and giggled when we brought her into our family bed that evening. She is a joy and I cannot imgaine my life without her.

Thank you, all. I am watching her draw and I know I didn't give her this talent. She can sing, too, and beautifully. It's a amzing the gifts life sometimes sends. I think of her birth mother nearly every day, and wish I could let her know how wonderfully she is growing. I just hope I am mothering our dd in a way that could somehow lessen the pain of her loss.
