Question New to this...Time and Marriage & Adopting...

Hello. I was just talking with a friend and she says that in order to adopt you need to be married for two years. Is this correct? Is it for all types of adoptions? If not, which types? Sorry if this is a vauge question, but I haven't found anything on it yet!

TIA!!!

I think it would depend on the agency. After all, there ARE single adoptive parents out there

It definately varies by agency and also by the country you are trying to adopt from (if it's not the U.S.).

HTH some!

Yup, it depends! For adopting through our state system, the requirement was two years. Our private agency (different adoption) was also two years. But I've heard 3 or 5 or no requirements.
