Traumatized/Abused

We have been wanting to adopt for so long but the financial side keeps us back. While checking out online, I found a posting for a little boy (almost 3) whose mother poured boiling water over him and he has burns down his torso and neck. There was no mention of any emotional issues and only that he is a very happy child. It was repeatedly mentioned in his posting that the orphanage didn't think he would ever be adopted due to his burns It is breaking my heart into a million pieces thinking of this little boy sitting on the other side of the ocean with no one and not a very promising future. I emailed the agency involved to get some info about adopting him and if it is even possible and I so hope that we will be able to swing this. I just had to share this and if anyone has any info or advice at all, my ears are wide open. Thank you

p.s. I believe he is in Russia right now and I have no idea how that process would work

Have you been on www.adoptuskids.org? There's a ton of kids here in the US, and you can get the homestudy process done free through your state It takes about six months to get it done; if you use a private agency that you pay for, about three.

We looked into Russian adoption, but the cost and requirements kept us from pursuing it.

Good luck!
