Smile Adoption Day

My neice is going to be adopted by my sisters current DH, and I have a question to ask for her. Can you tell me what Court is going to be like? I'm guessing its a nicey Nicey thing, and she will be ok with it, right (she's 5)? Oh and a question for me (lol)... As her adoption day gift I bought her a dress Something like this is ok for her to wear to court right? I just KNOW she'll LOVE IT! She has had such a hard life so far and if something so little can put a smile in her face just for one day, I'd love to do it, KWIM. Thank's Mama!

Sorry did this already happen?

Court's pretty mellow...really mellow actually. The judge is friendly and at least in our court rooms they do sit up front and a little hight=er up but they talk to you like normal people and it's not all formal like on TV... she'll be able to ask questions and it won't be scary at all. It will actually be really short and not a big deal at all... and you can even take pictures with the judge at the end when it's over. She should expect to see people she doesn't know but everyone will be nice to her and then they should plan some kind of cool party afterwards that she can look forward to. Oh, and tell her she'll never have to be alone either, she might be worried about that!

Hope that helps!
Jen

I am no help for your question but oh my goodness what a gorgeous dress you got for her. She should totally wear it to court, just that will most likely make her day. She will be radiant and so happy that any fear will subside! I think it is important for the little girl to feel like the most special person on Earth on such a special occasion like that. Most likely the judge will comment on her dress and it'll take any stress out of the situation.

Thank's Mama. I spent the day looking for white patent leather shoes to go with it, with No luck. Last night though I had to run to walmart to get something and went to look at shoes just for S&G's and sure enough they had 1 Pair of white pattent leathers in the size I needed for her. Grabed those shoes and left. I pretty sure that was my sign that something I was doing was right.
