Question about points and the newbie stuff

While I was tapping with Deborah on youtube, I noticed "soreness" in my UA point. Does this mean that I have many issues stuck in that part of my body? Is there anything I should do to free up the energy there?

Ok. I have a lot of tapping to do. I have been a nervous wreck lately as finances are completely kaput and I am starting to get final notices. I thought I'd been in a rather good place about it all, staying positive, thinking that something great is just around the corner. So when I got my first notice today, I just kind of lost my will to be positive. I feel trapped. I don't have the skills to get a good paying job that will support is and welfare is not paying me enough to cover the bills. They want me to move to a part of town I don't even drive through. I was in the hospital last weekend with a kidney stone. The gave me vicodin for the pain and I had a reaction to that and the stone still has not passed and for all we know is sitting in my bladder causes (for sure lots of bleeding) and infection. It just seems a physical example of the current theme of feeling stuck. Or to be more specific going through lots of pain (our 2 year custody battle) followed by inability to move forward. And I also have this huge decision about possibly going after ex for child support but fear of him following through on his threat to take us back to court and try to get custody again. (He abandoned kids 1.5 years ago. It would take him a lot of time and money to even be able to see the kids.)

So, I now I need to tap. I want to tap. But where do I start when I have such a huuuuuge list of things to release?

Tap on the fact that you have so many things going on.

I've heard different thoughts on sore spots -what makes most sense to me is that it's an area that needs some attention. Either the energy is stuck or the underlying organ system/energetic area needs some attention. I like it when I find a sore spot -- to me, that means my body is ready to shift.

No need to do anything different. Just tap as normal. You also can stay on that point longer if needed.

Make a list.
Pick one. Any one.
Note your SUDS (write it down!).
Tap.
Note your SUDS. (write it down.)
Go back to the list.
Pick another one. Any one.
Tap.

Over time you'll find the list is shorter and items clear without tapping.
Like Flylady says, you aren't behind, just jump right in!

Hugs,
Deb.

Deb, such great advice. I do find when people are starting out with EFT they are in such a state of overwhelm and don't know where to go.

Tap for the overwhelm...
Even though I have so many issues and I don't know where to start...
Even though I feel so overwhelmed with everything in my life and I will never make a dent in any of my challenges...
Even though I don't believe EFT can work fast enough or even work at all...
etc.
Even though I am not 'good enough' at EFT to do this myself...

Whatever issues are at the forefront of your mind, tap on those. Do SUDS levels and test them to make sure you clear them.

If there is an issue that precipitated your current state of affairs tap on that issue and clear it. Are you angry about something that happened that is making finances so challenging? It will help you so much to clear that out.

HUGS, mama. It sounds like things are so challenging right now. Sending you lots of love.

SUDS is when you rate your issue from a scale of 0 to 10. It is really helping in tracking progress and keeping focused.

From Gary's site: Dr. Carol Look discusses the importance of testing in EFT

Quoting:
THE SUDS SCALE:

This brings up the importance of the 0-10 point “SUDs” (Subjective Units of Distress) scale. There are plenty of ways to get the client to evaluate his or her distress, but to keep it simple, we all use the 0-10 point SUDs scale. The person evaluates his or her anxiety on this scale before treatment, and we recommend that the client return to the original memory and reevaluate the level of anxiety on this same scale at the end of a few rounds.

When I use EFT with kids age 8 and under, I don’t use the SUDs scale, but rather have them hold their hands apart just a little bit or a lot, to measure the level of their hurt or upset.

There are still others who claim they are “not good” at registering the numbers of the SUDs scale. In these rare cases with adults, I have them use the “low---medium---high” measurement.
End quote.
