Suggestions for stubborn and acute anxiety

Which is kindan silly now that I "look" at it in the day light. Plus the issue is taken care of. And I *knew* it would be taken care of.

Still, there I was, awake at 5:00am, playing in my head the “unfairness” of the situation. Over. And over. And over.

Did I think about tapping on it? You bet. Did I? No. Why? I have no idea! I just was not going to do it. I was going to lay there and pout. Even though I *knew* that in (at most) 5 hours it will be a non-issue.

For some reason early mornings are high-anxiety times for me. I just rev myself up in the self-pity about whatever is most on my mind. And just keep going and going. Few hours later I am amazed – what was such a big deal? Then the next morning I go again…

What can I do?

You can do many things.
1) tap while ruminating. tap during any negative thoughts. It does not need a set up phrase or the movie technique or anything like that. EFT is a pattern interrupt. So interrupt the negative...(I know you know this and are avoiding it..but I thought I would state the obvious)

2) if you are feeling stubborn about doing number (1) then..
tap on the fact that...(remember I am shooting in the dark...and you need to use your words, not mine)
"I don't want to tap. It might help me, but I refuse to do it. Noone can make me, not even me. I want to wallow in self pity, I want to be stubborn. Noone can tell me what to do...Look at me, I 'm not tapping, nya nya nya..noone can make me...I gave up smoking, I am on this restricted diet for MS...I gave up my vices...I don't want to give up my self pity and my stubbornness. They are all mine. Noone can take them away form me, not even Gary Craig...not even EFT...I deserve my self pity. I deserve my stubbornness. I don't want to get better. I don't deserve to get better...."

and see where that gets you.

Or I am *afraid* tapping won't help...I am afraid that It won't work. So if I don't tap, then I can't fail."

3) do gratitude tapping. take your gratitude list and tap while you go through it. just tap on your abundance
"I am grateful I have two arms,
clothes on my body,
food in my house,
a roof over my head,
a job to pay for it all,
beautiful children,
a wonderful friend
that day at the beach...my goodness that day was WONDERFUL...
my amazing trip to Oregon

...and whatever else comes up for you.

You can do the bubble technique with your gratitude list and something negative(like we did with the two cities scenario)

Remember you can do the tapping about "I don't want to tap" at any time, it does not have to be at 5 am...you can do it in your car at lunchtime if that seems more doable for you.

HTH?!
love, light and blessings Irina.

Additionally..
do you feel that anxiety somewhere specific in your body?

You can tap on THAT.
just tap on the bodily sensations..
texture
size
color
sound
pain level 0-10 scale(or intensity level)
emotion...

see if you can collapse it by 'chasing the pain'
if you want me to elaborate more I can, but I have got to get the kids to bed.

Please remind me to teach you about 'anchoring' as well. I think it is so useful. I'll try to get a post up about it.

You probably already know this but each meridian is tied to a time of day:

3 to 5 am is Lung and 5 to 7 is Large Intestines.

Lung meridian tapping point is included in the collarbone and the large intenstines is the under the nose point (if I'm reading the charts right ....)

And the collarbone point is very commonly used for anxiety so that makes sense ...

So try tapping those two points before you go to bed -- no words or anything.

IN fact, try tapping the collarbone during the day as much as possible and see what you notice ....

Also, try tapping on your 5 am anxiety during the day -- maybe at 5 pm ....

Just a few different ideas,
Hugs,
Deb.

Just did this. Giggling all throughout. Humor cuts right through the negative (just like the can-can did!)

And I will second Linda in asking about more description about different meridians, pretty please?
