Lightbulb Testing~do you do it?

It is easy to remember to 'test' your back pain...
it starts at a 5/10 scale when you first start tapping, then you tap a couple rounds and check in..you realize it is now a 2/10 scale! Yay! you have made progress...then you tap a few more rounds...now it is a 0/10 scale!!!

You need to do the same for emotional stuff as well, The incidents, the stories the metaphors.

When you are tapping on an issue, it can be easy and productive to follow other aspects that come up and the tapping can end up far, far away from where you started. Recently I started tapping on my miscarriage and started on the sentence;
"I am angry at myself for having infertility surgery" which was a 5/10
next I tapped on
"I didn't trust my intuition, I didn't trust my body" 10+++
then I tapped on
"I went to Dr. X for medical intervention" 2/10
then I tapped on
"I believed my body was broken" 5/10
then I tapped on
"The need for a D&C was my fault for going against my beliefs and intuition..." 5/10
then I went back to
"I didn't follow my intuition and it is so painful to me" 10+++(this was a theme that kept coming up throught my whole infertility miscarriage story)
Pain, anger and sadness...
Then I felt like I was choking...like a green tennis ball was stuck in my throat choking me, so I focused on the tennis ball and tapped on it until it shrank and then disappeared and the choking disappeared with it. Then it felt like I had wool felt at the top back of my throat..it was orange and warm and about 2 cm square. I tapped on that and made it disappear. I felt really giddy/smiling when I was tapping on the tennis ball and the wool felt...that creating a HUGE shift for me.

You can see...you can keep going and going. Then I went back to the story and the statements and TESTED them to see if I had any intensity left on anything that I had worked on/tapped on. They way you test them is just by retelling the story to see if you have any intensity on an issue. Or just saying a statement and seeing if you have any intensity on the issue.

for example I went back and asked myself...
"I am angry at myself for having infertility surgery'
"I should not have gone on bed rest against my beliefs"
etc,etc.
and more, of course.

I also just reread the whole story of my miscarriage and took notes along the margins as a read it, rating intensity as I reread it.

Testing is how you can be thorough and know when you have 'finished' working on an issue and to test if EFT is REALLY working for you. It actually does not take that long to do, and for me tends to make my tapping more efficient in most cases. So that is an added plus.

Happy Tapping!

Wow Linda. Intense work. Thank you for sharing that. I have been working on testing more consistently. This really helps.

Thank you, I am glad it was helpful! It surprised me what the *actual* issue with the biggest crescendo was in the end.
(I am only halfway through that story! lol! But it is a biggie.)
