This may have changed, but Ebay instituted a policy whereby if the seller accepted Pay Pal, they had to accept both funded and CC payments. It was getting too confusing for buyers trying to distinguish between the two. A seller can no longer say "I accept funded Pay Pal only...." If he/she says they accept Pay Pal, theyn need to be prepared to accept CC payments as well as funded.

In my closing comments, I write in something like:

If you are paying paypal funds, please use 123@eyemail.com .

Or, if you prefer to pay with a credit card through Paypal, please use 456@eyemail.com .

That way, they do have both options. I've only received 3 funded payments though out of about 50.

According to paypal/ebay you aren't supposed to do this either. They try to get more money anyway they can. Frustrating but at the same time I like how quick I get my payments with paypal and how easy it is to pay for my auctions.

This is from paypal
PayPal account holders may not split payments between a Personal PayPal account and a Premier or Business PayPal account by directing buyers paying with credit card to pay their Premier or Business account and buyers paying with PayPal balance or bank account to pay their Personal account. Any business payments that are split and made to a Personal account will be subject to fees applicable to a Business or Premier account. Personal accounts are for personal use only. If you would like to do business through your PayPal account, you must use a Premier or Business account.

I have also asked how they intend to pay and changed the email address in the eBay shopping cart to route to the proper account.

I wanted to once but when they started sending me spam through my email I lost interest. Imagine they keep sending me these bills and receipts for orders that I didn't make even though I already replied and told them they sent it to the wrong person.

My experience selling on ebay is that PayPal is a must. I find most buyers want that option. I know when I'm buying, if it doesn't say PayPal I usually won't bid...or it's got to be something I want desperately!

I get tons of fake emails (phish) from what looks very offically from ebay (and PayPal). The first time, I was stupid and hit the fake "Respond Now" button and answered their question, completely unaware I was sending my personal info to a fraud! Within the hour, the real ebay froze my account until I could get in a reset my password. It was their way of protecting me and I was thrilled that they were on the ball.

I really enjoy selling and buying on ebay, and I think PayPal is excellent. I've never had trouble with either as long as I've used them.
