International shipping or why can't people READ

DH listed some stuff on ebay and had it all listed as USA bidders only no international shipping.

THe guy who won this auction is in Germany! We are tempted to tell him sorry charley and offer it to the next highest bidder. I'm not sure how to do that if if I even should. We would only lose $3 by offering it to the next highest bidder.

How big of a hassle is it to ship overseas? The reason I ask is because dh is going out of town tomarrow and all the shipping will fall to me and it is a major PITA to drag the kids to the PO and try to drag in packages by myself and I really don't want to have to fill out tons of forms. This is the reason I don't sell very often, I hate to go to the PO. I could have shot dh when I saw he listed the auctions to end this weekend! He didn't think about the fact that I'd have to do all the shipping.

Does anyone know how to cancel the high bidders bid since he didn't read out clearly stated restictions? Is it bad to do so.

I don't ship things overseas, but my mom does. I know you need a different insurance form and I'm not sure if you could use delivery confirmation or tracking. I know my mom has told me that it can take much longer for items to get delivered when she ships overseas.

I'm not sure about cancelling the bid after the auction has ended. I did find this Unwelcome buying and this cancelling a bid Good luck .

If it were me I'd ship it anyway and probably charge actual shipping & insurance plus handling fee for my trouble and the fact they didn't read the rules.
Check the post office site on particulars & forms to Germany, some things can be picked up by your carrier
(no trip to p.o.) for international with some restrictions. example: items under 4 pounds can be shipped to Sweden

I don't have problems shipping overseas. In fact I do most of my auctions internationally for some reason.

I always charge acutual shipping cost + shipping & handleing fee. You do have to fill out a customs form (green part sticks on the package) and there is a different insurance form. I also make sure that the buyer knows that the items are being shipped at their risk & I get a certificate of mailing &/or keep my receipt as proof of mailing. I also make the buyer choose shipping type basied on how fast they want the item to get there. Mostly I use global ground which takes 4-6 weeks.

If you make sure to really outline the shipping terms & make sure that the buyer knows the risks & costs of international shipping, then I don't think international shipping is that big of a deal.

I did notice that the auction listing doesn't have information about your shipping terms. Your terms are only mentioned in the spots the E-bay mentions them. Maybe adding "US SHIPPING ONLY" to the auction text would keep this from happening again.
