Question Isn't there some way to get Priority mail supplies delivered for free?

I thought there was a way to "order" Priority shipping supplies (like tape, Tyvek envelopes, labels, etc) for free from the USPS and have them delivered to you. Is this only for buisnesses? Am I imagining this???

Go to: www.usps.com and find supplies (Can't remember the exact name of it though)

They will deliver anything within reason, and don't charge.
But it takes like 7-10days to get the supplies.

I get envelopes, and md. boxes from there, because I was running my po out of them.

Keep in mind that you can ONLY use the supplies for Priority mailing...you can't turn the envies inside-out & use 'em for another shipping rate. (Been there & done it...got snagged and had to pay priority mailing rate anyway )

Lori, I wouldn't do that! I tried re-using a used one once and the meanie at the PO almost caught me. I don't use 'em anymore.

But you know today, there was a little old lady putting brown tape over a Priority box and the PO guy helped her! I couldn't believe it!!!

I'm running a shipping supplies group buy if you want tyvek-style envelopes for non-priority shipments.

you can re-use them if they have already been shipped for priority mail. I do it often, to recycle. I onlyship prioiryt, and I still do it, and just make sure to stick a priority sticker ont eh outside so they know it's priority. Sheesh-what kind of postal workers would balk at someone recylcing an envelope?!?!

Yes, you CAN reuse them if you mail them as priority again.
You can't even turn a USED priority mailer inside-out and use it for another rate...has to be priority either way.

I thought it was OK to re-use a priority envie as first class, but my postmaster said otherwise.

That is so dumb. You would think they would be glad you're recycling and let you use the used ones to mail anyway you want. I still do it and they haven't said anything to me. My post office is always in a hurry and I guess they don't care.

The Postmaster from where I used to live said that was fine. It was your trash & you could do with it what you want.
