Angry why do these diapers smell like skunk

and no, they haven't encountered any skunks. it seems to be the kissaluvs mostly and I don't notice the smell until DS has peed in them.

any ideas?

When mine start to stink I wash them as normal, then run them thru the machine again on the longest wash and rinse with no soap.

maybe some extra freshening on the line will help too....

how do you wash yours? what do yoiu use? it may just be residual buildup...

you can try just using vinegar

Mine only got the funk when there was a detergent build up, and it was mostly noticeable when they were wet. Vinegar will definitely help get rid of the build up, but if they already smell that bad, you might want to wash them with a little borax, or something similar you're comfortable using. One note of caution, the laundry boosters do wear out the dipes faster, so use it when necessary, but not too often. It is possible that the thick cushiness of the kissaluvs is holding the detergent more, so maybe they need more rinsing. For what it's worth, I always ran mine through an extra cycle without detergent, and they still occassionally got the funk.
