Need some CLoth Diapering HELP and Suggestions for a preemie

I just met a woman who has a 5 month old who was born at 28weeks. She JUST weighs 12#s at 5months. She (the baby) is EXTREMELY allergic to disposies- they apparently leave her little bum raw. The mom said that the lil girl is shapped funny- she has a tiny butt and a big waist.

Any thoughts on some diapers to try for her?

I think side snapping diapers are the best for not-quite-average shaped babies.

I am not sure if she is open right now, but Heidi at Sugarbums makes nice, reasonably priced ones.

Sugarpeas side snaps are easy to get, and have an awesome fit. I love the organic cotton. However, I am not sure that the serging on mine will go the distance. Um, the Absorbitalls are also readily available, and pretty nice from what my friend says.

HTH! I can prolly think if more if need be.

The fuzzibunz newborns should also fit. My son was born narrow and they fit him just fine.

Personally, I like a front-snap (or front aplix) diaper for big waists. Then you can fasten them under the bulk of the belly without having a giant poof like you get with a side snap diaper on a big waist. A good diaper with tons of adjustability would be CuddleBuns. If the baby is at 12 pounds now, these should fit and since they are Single Sized, they'll fit for a looonnnnggggg time to come. At 12 pounds, she'd probably use them with the front panel folded down. Still lots of adjustability.

Hope this doesn't sound too spammy since I make CuddleBuns, but I'm not even open right now so I promise this is just an honest recommendation.
