Question What do you use to wash your CD's?

I've been using Tide and it's ok I guess but I'm wondering what else everyone uses I would like to try something different to see if it helps with the smell.

TIA

I use Allen's Naturally. I love it... it is really weird and hard to explain but there is a smell of no smell...

hmm... Not like a free and clear where there is no scent but the Allen's scent should be called "no scent"...

OMG I'm totally not making any sense... its too late and i should be in bed, LOL

Is the Allen's natural something you get at a natural food store?

Both my little guys have eczema, so I have to be picky about detergent. Tide & Cheer both gave my ds rashes.

I use Sun & Earth detergent (it's not too bad pricey if you buy it in bulk when it goes on sale). If I can't get that, I use All Free and Clear, which works. I've also used MelaPower a lot in the past, and it didn't cause my boys to have rashes. I use vinegar every few washes.

I'm also obsessive about extra rinses. *lol* I wash on the warm/long cycle with detergent, then let it rinse, spin, rinse, spin. Then I set it back to a 6 minute wash without soap and let it run through the whole cycle again (wash, rinse, rinse). Works for us.

We're a Tide lovin' family over here. No problems with rashes and I like the way it smells.

Surf with active oxygen. I remember I got a few diapers from another mama here and I asked her what she washed them with b/c they smelled so good and she said Surf. I also threw in some baking soda every now and then.

I use Melapower. I love it! It smells so fresh and works wonders even in hard water.

I use either Purex or Costco's brand (can't think of the name right now)

We use All free and clear

If you have AIO's I'd say no vinegar, I used vinegar before and PUL doesn't like it. Since I stopped it i never had wicking/leaking anymore.

I used the all free and clear and I had a horrible time with my diapers leaking because it coated them. Maybe it was just the diapers I was using at the time?

I was wanting to try the melapower but I don't know anyone local that sells melaluca and I wonder if I can get it through anyone here or if it would be double shipipng, I don't know how that works.

Has anyone used the wal-mart generic of Tide? I bought some today and I know I can use it on my clothes alright but I wanted to make sure it wouldn't coat my cd's.

Thanks for all the replies so far

Try to find someone near you that does Melaleuca and see if you can give them the money to order you a bottle to try, otherwise maybe they will give you a little of their detergent.

We were using All free and clear but Iven kept getting a rash so now we are using disposables until I can get all the diapers stripped and then we will try MelaPower.

I have used a bunch of different detergents. I've never really had a problem of any of them, except one generic I got in a pinch at Kmart -- it left all my laundry rather dingy. Most often, we use the Member's Mark brand from Sam's Club, or Sun from Wal-Mart.
