I tired it all, but he soaks through *everything* in less than two hours, even Pampers and Huggies

Since about 10 days Vidura has given up the idea of using the potty, he tells me "no way, I don't like it" and just goes in his diaper, which is absolutely great (not) cause I just sold most of our diaper stash since he was doing so good with toilet training.

Anyway, I tried LD and LL, fitted and covers, he soaks right through even Motherease covers!!!

If I try to put anymore layers and it becomes bulky he freaks out and takes it all off. We can't use hemp he is allergic.

I don't know what else to do, he wakes up totally wet (me too since he sleeps in my bed) I have to change his diaper about 15-20 times a day

and his clothes at least 5-6 times since it goes right through anything.
I wash them properly and the same way since i started CD'ing, so the issue is not from diapers. You should just see the amount he pees, in an hour I take a fitted off (a big bsorbant one with liner) and it drips!

I don't know what to do, what to use... If you have a very heavy wetter, please tell me how you do it, and your night system.

ok I might be booed or the total weirdo BUT

I change my son after every wet diaper. I basically always have done this, since he was a newborn.

It really isnt that hard, especially if you just have one baby.

I think because of this habit my son has been dry for up to 10 hours at night time. I can usually let him sleep w/o a diaper at night.

When he's having growth spurts he does pee at night but normally he is dry during the night and at nap times.

Also during the I usually just keep Caden in a t-shrit and a diaper NO cover so it's easier to know when he's peed.

Also is this a new thing it could be food related or something physical like a growth spurt?

Im just a diaper changing freak. Also we've done EC off and on but Caden just hasnt been in the mood to EC for the longest =/.

Same as Caden's Mama here - before my kids potty trained I changed them every time they wet (15 mins - 30 mins when they were younger). DD was EC'ed for 6 mths .... I used prefolds and regular gerber covers for them - no cover when we lived in a place without carpeting ... somehow these new fangled cloth diapers which are trying to be like a disposable so you only change them after a few loads of pee rather than after very pee doesn't make any sense to me....

I would suggest changing him more often - though this may not be an option for you if you've already sold off most of your diapers.....maybe you could get a few more

I have gotten many emails from mamas saying my diapers have solved their heavy wetting problems!

I make hemp diapers with trifold soakers as an option, and they are great for those super pee'ers and overnight!

What about a wool in one, or a windpro diaper.We like Snoogie Snaps for nighttime, Or happy heinys with 2 happy heinys stuffins. And ds is a super heavy wetter :-)

Have you tried those micro-inserts from MOE?

I have one here you can have if you want it, they are as absorbant as joey bunz, but a bit bulkier. (and not hemp)

If you want it, pm me your address, as I'm too lazy to look through a box of papers to find it. LOL

But wool is always a great answer for heavy wetters imo

Potty training? My daughter is/was doing much the same. Heavy wetter and takes her diaper off the minute she's wet (and if it's too bulky - almost went to disposables over the bulk). So, we've given up and are now trying to potty train.

Oh, and she often sleeps naked-bum with wool wet pads underneath.

Kind of a "if you can't fight them, join them" deal.

But, I will tell you this, nothing, absolutely nothing, works as well as wool for a nice water proof cover. Nothing.

Done with dipes here...We couldn't do wool due to eczema. Sometimes at night I'd do double prefolds with a doubler or liner. I've heard of people triple prefolding.

Sam was a heavy wetter for a while. I double diped with a Stacinator nighttime cover. I had to change her every time she wet but nothing else got wet.

Thank you for all the responses. After considering all the options I realied that this sudden heavy wetting has two reasons behind it, first he's obviously having a big growth spurt, and second I hit a bad wave of depression the last two weeks and I think he felt it and is a bit disturbed from it.

He was doing very well with the potty and suddenly doesn't even want to go on it at all. He also used to stay completely dry at night until last week. Anyway, since I am doing much better he should get back to normal and we'll get back on our potty routine.

As far as changing him every time he pees, right now I cannot afford it, diaperwise and laundry wise. I cannot add 4 loads of laundry a week to our electric/water bill. And cannot afford 2 more dozens of diapers, lol.
Since he was so close to potty training, I'm not too worried.
I love wool at night, I just sold all my wool covers when he started staying dry at night

I made him one two days ago and used it, it worked.

Hemp is not an option here as he is highly allergic to it.

Kristen, I'd love the soakers but right now I cannot ($), I'll contact you in a week or two about them.
