Waking up in a puddle, uhhh!

Can anyone give me some insight on what I can do to stop waking up in a puddle from my son;s heavy nighttime diapers? I cloth diapered my daughter with all second hand stuff and never woke up in a puddle (that was 6 years ago so maybe I have forgotten?). Now I use all new (for this babe) wool cover and cloth diapers. I have double diapered, and used hemp, but nothing is working. Tried smaller sized covers, larger sized covers, relanolized covers, make sure all is tucked in. What else can I do?? HELP!!

My son was a super soaker. And it totally varried depending on the developmental stage. What usually worked didn't always work.

When we were having an espeically floodfull time lol we added an extra pull on cover over our existing system.

I actually read the hint on the net back in '98 but it works.

Other things to make sure you've got covered all basics that you prob. already know but it never hurts to think about again.

Enough absorbancy... add more doublers.
All the cloth is inside the cover.

Honsetly, wool and fleece (didn't have some of the fleece options that are avalible today) didn't work with my ds as he aged because he was a tummy sleeper and the compression of the soaking wet diaper against the bed would cause wet spots.

There were many times where his diaper seemed bigger than he was + and Aristocrat + a Dappi Pull on (big enough to pull over the huge mass already there)

Just knowing that adding a pull on over your existing system can keep your bed dry was a diaper sanity saver for me.

something i do when ds is peeing alot at night is to change him when he wakes up to nurse. if your ds will seep through it like mine. i just got some easy to attatch in the dark dipes, and change him everytime he pees. though i have heard of mamas jsut changing the baby right before mama herself goes to bed and that apparently works too.

good luck

Dd is a super soaker too. I have to change her right before I go to bed (before her last nursing) I put her in a hemp fitted, with a doubler, and an extra hemp doubler (like a joey bunz or something similar) All topped with a wool cover. I have to change her super early in the morning, otherwise she gets so saturated that it starts leaking. I also put waterproof pads underneath her to save my bed.

I knew I'd get the help I needed here. A few things have changed and I am waking up on a dry bed,, ahhh. Here's what worked. My boy sleeps in a fitted diaper in addition I add either a hemp or extra prefold inside a wool cover that buttons around the legs. Here's what's the same, I change him every time he wakes to nurse, he's on a wool soaker, and he still is a super soaker. I am so grateful to wake up dry even though his diaper is saoked! Thanks for the insights mamas!!
