so I thought it would be interesting to see if we could fit my family

into an English style home. Those little 3 br 1 bath 2 story townhouses everyone apparently owns (they need more architects there, I think). I don't think they're more than 1200 sq ft. Every house I visited was basically that style.

Anyway, it looks like there's a 50% chance we'll be buying a house that size - whether it's the Escher house or not. What we "need" is completely being reevaluated, and I don't consider myself to be much of a "stuff" person in the first place.

Today: I sorted through clothes to pass on and boxed up some books to donate. It'll be an adventure if it works out.

My sister who lives in a teeny house with no storage says that closets are, in fact, a need.

That's what we have, with 3 kids. I grew up in one as well, with two sisters. We do have a finished full walkout basement, which does add lots of extra space- down there we've got: Dh's 'man' room, a second bathroom, a few closets for offseason storage, my sewing room/kids playroom, laundry area. The most important thing is use of your space without looking cluttered, lol

We have a house that is 3 bed 1 bath, just under 1000 sq feet and it is fine, quite fine, except... we have a very small dining space. That is the only thing I REALLY wish I could change.

We are currently considering a move to a tiny 1300 (I don't know where they are getting 1300 from...it seems smaller) sq foot farm house. I hope to add on, eventually. I don't know how we'll do it. I hate to let the property go, but I just don't see how I can cram us all into that kind of space.

The bedrooms are *so* tiny. And because of the age of the house (very very old by US standards), the upstairs rooms have low dormered ceilings.

I wish I could figure it out. I adore the property.

You know, sometimes I consider the benefits that would come from such a move and it can be tempting at times.

When we go we're probably looking at 1000 sq ft or less..no ILs this year so we only need 2 bdr rental..it should be fun figuring out what to do with all this enormous furniture.
