what a diff organization/decluttering makes!

i'm always complaining that we don't have enough space in this 1450 sq ft house for us, but i'm learning that it's plenty of space - just too much stuff!

anyways, i've been on a major decluttering binge since spring started and i'm finally seeing some headway. today i did not one, but TWO closets (we've got two closets in the hall and one in the living room). i still have one closet in the hall to go, but i'm totally inspired after seeing the improvement on how much space we actually have once things are organized!

i trashed a large trashbag of stuff out of the closets, a few empty boxes we were saving goodness knows why, and piled up a massive bunch of stuff to sell at a yard sale i'm hoping to have soon!

now the closet in the LR has all of our coats and vaccuum and the kids shoes as well as some things we use on occasion (oil lamps for power outages, china that i refuse to part with, and an extra serger that i'm going to sell but have to keep it out of the kids reach until then).

the hall closet i did today had craft stuff and tons of other stuff in it. now it's only craft stuff! i put a shelving unit in there to add to the built in shelves and the 3 drawer cart that were already in there and organized all the stuff. i'm so proud and i hope we'll use everything a lot more now that we can see it all!

on to the next task!!! thanks for the inspiration ladies!

I need some inspriation to do my hall closet. I'm a little scared to do it, although I know I'll feel great when it's done!

WTG! I love this forum

I wish I had a coat closet hahaha.

It does feel so good to declutter. It seems neverending...especially with kids. I know I did a ton before your trip a couple of weeks ago. Now that we are back I feel like I didn't do anything!
