It's 3 pm here...busy busy day.
I spent about four hours today putting the second coat of oil on the loft floor and half of the staircase, then the first coat on the bottom of the staircase and the floor below ("half" our living room, I guess you'd say).
That leaves a second coat on half the staircase and the living room area, prepping the entryway and kitchen, and putting three coats on there, and a third coat on the main part of the living room that I have done already.
Then, waxing all of that - which is the EASY part, like mopping it on then buffing.
I am SO POOPED.
This afternoon we are going to go back over there, I hope, and M and I will finish putting their beds together. YAY! I think they'll be really happy, although I'm terrified of how small they will feel like the room is.
I was planning on spending from 1-3 pm decluttering their toys, but I just hit the wall. Four hours bent over brushing this stuff on and then wiping it off just knocked me out. I've been spending 4-6 hours every day doing it...I'm just wiped. I didn't even get my oily rags in the wash yet. I ate lunch, then got phone calls back from a few people, then laid down for a half-hour.

Elijah allows me to dress him nicely and take a picture!
I'm feeling fairly accomplished today. I was able to declutter dh's stuff. I have to strike just the right balance or he goes into a tantrum. He just can't handle departing with his holey, stained tshirts.
Then dh called and asked if I wanted to have lunch with him. Of course, I did. So I went and we had a nice lunch together. Then I returned some stuff to Gap, gasses up the van (very traumatic!!!) then did some grocery shopping at Costco. It's amazing how much $$$ one can save by sticking to a grocery list!!!
I'm taking a breather now, then I'll hop on the bike and pick up Josh from school. The boys have group Suzuki practice tonight and it's also family picnic night so we'll be there for a while. I'll probably bring some knitting to keep be busy while the boys play with their friends.
After that, we'll have to come home and do homework. Dh will be away at fencing lessons so it will be just me and the boys. I'd like to start watching the netflix I received a few days ago: Manor House, from pbs. But usually when I sit to watch something, I fall asleep.
I got so much done today. I vacummed the whole house, dusted everything in sight, cleaned our old antique wooden table with soap and polished it all up, including all six chairs.
Cleaned the front of all the cupboards in the kitchen, the front of the fridge and stove and all visible areas.
Moved on to the bathroom, cleaned everything in there---it's sparkling.
Finished doing two loads of laundry and hung most out to dry.
I listened to ABBA the whole time.
After the morning declutter challenge..I cleaned spots from the rug, cleaned the downstairs bathroom, cleaned the kitchen for the umpteenth time, vacuumed all the floors..I still have more to do cuz my kids are mess factories but I'm loving having a more normal house..about to declutter the top of the microwave!

Feels good!!!!
Great job, mama. I bet ABBA is great cleaning music. I may have to pull out my ABBA cd tomorrow and see how it goes.
