What are you working on today?

Today I'm going to work on the entry closet. It needs to be decluttered and organized.

Also, I'm going to put my winter clothes away.

I have a bunch of other things planned, but as far as decluttering, these are my main projects for the day.

I've rejoined Flylady and I'm very excited to get back on track.

#1 decluttering/organizing priority: pantry.
#2: laundry room (goes hand in hand so I can move things from the pantry that I don't use often).
#3: quick kitchen declutter (ongoing).

I'm having a yard sale in a few weeks too, so I'll be spending a lot of time marking and boxing up things.
My mom brought up 5 bags full of stuff this past weekend and I just plopped them back in our bedroom.
I'm going to go through that stuff and then go through our closet and drawers.
We just had a birthday/slumber party this weekend with lots of family and 8 kids so I've got a lot of "regular" cleaning to do also. Probably won't get it all done today.

I'm just doing a deep clean on our bedroom today. So far, I pulled J's clothes off of his shelves, and sorted out what needed to go (holey etc.), dusted the shelves and put the rest back. I also vacuumed out the rest of the closet and put a few blankets in the guest room that were getting store on the top shelf.

In my dresser, I pulled out more clothes that don't fit and put in the maternity I've gotten. Took everything off of the top of the dresser, dusted and put it back.

Next, I'm going to take everything off of the bookshelves and dust. Last thing to do is to tackle the desk and papers that always seem to get piled up here and there.

Maybe a nice nap after I'm done!!

Update:

Wow, today is turning out to be quite productive.

my ta-da's:
FINALLY declutter that hall closet. Pull everything out and swept out bottom. I'm giving my mom 3 of her coats back and pulled out to donate some coats of the boys that no longer fit. I've put my school back pack in the garage for storage. I've organized and put into clear, plastic boxes all the items that seem to get thrown up on the shelf. I have one for our hats, one for winter hats/scarfs, one for binoculars, one with some medical stuff in it, one with lightbulbs, and one misc. I'm wanting to get a nice laser label maker. As soon as I do, those boxes are getting some nice, pretty labels.

I've declutters our cd's and dvd's and books in the living room. I've dusted, gotten down cob webs and thoroughly vacuumed the living room. I've washed the sliding glass door (covered with muddy doggie prints, lol).

Phew!!!

Now I'm enjoying a blueberry/pineapple smoothie with vanilla protein powder. yummy.

Oh, I've also been doing laundry all morning-including stripping all bed and washing linens.

Enjoy that well deserved break, Suzie! I'll admit I'm sitting down with an icy cold Ithaca Root Beer on my break!

I finished the bookcase and my desk, even wiped down the glass top for it. I vacuumed every possible nook and cranny in our room and polished anything that's wood. The bedding is in the wash and I'll hang it up once its done.

While I'm on a roll, I am thinking I might try to get to the medicine cabinet and bathroom closet, too. I'd like to take out all of the contents, wipe everything down and sort it and put it back.

This is, of course, after sitting with my feet up for 20 minutes or so and sipping on my root beer.

Good for you for taking a break. I often forget to, then I get exhausted and burned out.

I'm working on my night stand. Two drawers of collected misc. I gotta clean the bathrooms, so I probably won't get to anything else.

That doesn't happen here in colorado. ya never know when a snow storm or hail storm decides to roll through. winter clothes are a standard year round for me.

Well, I didn't get a much else done on the house after my last update.

I did study a bit for my boards. I picked Josh up from school and we swam and hung out a bit. I fixed dinner. Now ds1 is working on homework and ds2 is getting stories from dh.

Wow, reading what you've accomplished is inspiring!

Didn't get here till today, but I'm going to be sanding and refinishing floors - STILL! In between I'm going to come home to check messages and make a few phone calls and I will work on the kids' toys. They have taken over the living room, but yesterday we gathered them up into boxes, at least. I really need to get them decluttered and put away so that they are a bit harder for J to scatter. Sometimes it is like having a permanent 2 yo in your house, having J - he is still in the 2-3 yo "dump and spread" mode of playing sometimes. It's frustrating. I told dh this morning that he is an entropy machine! LOL! All I have to do is get busy doing something or answer a phone call and before I know it an entire shelf is cleared and you can't see the floor. Sigh.

good luck on those floors. That's really hard work. Make sure you are wearing a mask.

I have lots planned for today. Mostly I need to get some errands out of the way. I want to declutter and deep clean both bathrooms and get started on my bedroom.

Dh and ds 1 are going to the state capitol for a field trip and won't be back until around 6pm. That leaves ds2 and I after 3pm. He like to have all my attention all the time. He still won't play on his own. He just has an anxiety about being by himself (although he's not, I'm in the next room, he just can't entertain himself.)

I decluttered the hall closet the other day, posted a few things (ok, a bunch of stuff) to freecycle, sent some fabric home with poor Meg.
